go read it.well theres this one part call thats simply touching. ""I brushed shoulders with this person whom I've mentioned above. Everytime I went back Indonesia, the villagers would tell me of this dude who always helped them out especially so to those who earned less than the average SGD$50/month. Some were helped when their ailing parents had to be sent to the hospital for big time surgery and their pockets had only enough for our two days lunch money. Some were helped when they got no money to marry their childrens that to take a memorable wedding picture was through a Nokia basic handphone camera. Some were helped when their babies were crying because they've not been feeding them proper nutrition. But funny none of them was allowed to say anything as they were reprimanded if they did so, the dude would ask for his money back.
I chided my late father everytime I visited him as he should be doing something like that dude (since he moved there after retirement) instead of lamenting that these people are so helpless, so God forsaken, instead of wasting his money away buying cars and houses (thank God he was not a womanizer tho). He almost always brushed his hands at my face and say "aiyah I know lah!".
When my father died, one by one of these villagers came crying to me. I asked why. And they said finally "the dude" is finally rested in peace..""
the earlier part of the thread changed me.There are people who are less fortunate than us.Earning few hundred bux a month.Foreign workers have a lump of plain rice with gravy and veggies ONLY.Some people in thailand live in a house smaller than our room!! And yet they still wake up every morning smiling even when doing back breaking work.
Here we are not thankful for living in Singapore.So what if you dun have the latest handphone. So what you dun wear expensive clothings. Me in particular, woke up this morning feeling sad.Sad all day.Rambling about love.
